Kimberly Sutton is the founder of The Roving Reporter. She thought of the idea in October 2015, 10 months after leaving The Courier of Montgomery County. She was still meeting amazing people and hearing their stories and realized Montgomery County, Texas needed more positive news in the community.
Sutton is an award-winning news journalist and photographer who was born and raised in Texas, spending her summers in New Mexico while in school. She graduated from Conroe High School and then attended Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism/broadcasting.
Since 1988, she has worked as a news and feature reporter for newspapers in New Mexico and Texas where she won Texas Press Association’s Awards in Best Newspaper Design and Best Feature Story, published a coffee table photo book in 2017 called, “Lone Star Life: Images of Montgomery County, and won first place twice on her Shepard’s Barber Shop photo.
Sutton loves to travel and has lived in Costa Rica and Paraguay, studying Spanish and working as a missionary. Kimberly and her husband live in Conroe and have three children.
